By placing an order in-store or online, or by entering into any transaction with SOS Quality Used Goods, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. SELLING GOODS TO US
ID Policy
To prevent the handling of stolen or fraudulently obtained goods, we operate a strict ID policy.
Customers must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Provide valid photographic ID (Driving Licence, Passport, Armed Forces ID, Student ID)
Provide two utility bills or bank statements dated within the last 3 months showing matching name and address
If valid photo ID is not available, we may photograph the customer for our records.
We may:
Record and store customer details
Take and store photographs
Record serial numbers and descriptions of goods
Test and mechanically test goods
Monitor transactions via CCTV
Require customers to sign a receipt
We work closely with local police authorities and welcome their assistance in the operation of our business.
Testing of Goods
All goods brought to us will be checked for condition and tested for functionality where applicable. Items may need to be left with us for verification before a transaction is completed.
2. BUYING FROM US
Pre-Owned Goods
Items described as pre-owned or used will be fully functional unless otherwise stated but may show minor cosmetic wear. Any significant defects will be clearly described at the time of sale.
Customers may presume that goods:
Are of satisfactory quality
Are fit for purpose
Are safe and durable
Match their written description
3. IN-STORE RETURNS & WARRANTY
14-Day Return Window
We accept unwanted returns within 14 days of purchase, subject to:
Valid proof of purchase
Item in original condition
Full working order (unless faulty)
Original packaging where applicable
Return to the same store of purchase
Unwanted in-store returns are issued as in-store credit, unless management decides otherwise.
We reserve the right to test items for up to 24 hours before issuing a refund or credit.
Faulty Items – In Store
If a fault develops through no fault of your own:
Within 30 Days
We may offer a repair, replacement, exchange, or refund to the original payment method.
After 30 Days (Up to 3 Months)
Covered under our Limited Warranty (see below). We will aim to repair or replace.
All faults must be verified.
Removable battery faults are not covered beyond 30 days.
3-Month Limited Warranty
All items are covered by a 3-month warranty against:
Manufacturing defects
Electrical faults
Mechanical failure not caused by misuse
Excludes:
Accidental damage
Liquid damage
Wear and tear
Tampering or third-party repair
Consumables
Extended warranties may be offered at management discretion.
4. PAYMENT PLANS (IN STORE ONLY)
Items £20 or above may be secured with:
Minimum 20% deposit
Agreed repayment period (maximum 12 weeks)
Failure to maintain payments may result in:
Forfeiture of prior payments
Item being returned to stock
Repossession at management discretion
Payments may be made by cash, debit or credit card.
5. BUY BACK SERVICE
Customers must:
Be over 18
Provide valid ID
Buy Back terms:
£20 or below – 50% interest
£21-£400 up to 32.5% interest
- Above £400 – 22.5% interest
Standard 28-day agreements
Buy Back extensions:
Interest must be paid before 5pm on expiry date
Failure to repurchase may result in forfeiture of goods.
SOS Quality Used Goods is not liable for loss or damage due to theft, fire, flooding, or events beyond our control.
6. GOLD, JEWELLERY & WATCHES
We purchase scrap gold and jewellery at daily rates which is decided based on the market value on selected day.
Embedded stones may reduce weight
No additional value given for embedded stones
Gold may be chemically tested
Rates fluctuate daily and may vary between stores
High-value watches must be verified by our expert watchmaker and may require up to one working day for inspection.
7. ONLINE SALES – DELIVERY
We ship within the United Kingdom only.
Shipping Structure
Under £50 – £4.99
Over £50 – Free UK Delivery
Over £100 – Royal Mail Special Delivery or insured courier
We reserve the right to apply additional charges for high-value or specialist items.
Items are dispatched within 2 working days once payment clears.
We do not dispatch on weekends or bank holidays.
Delivery Terms
Delivery aim: within 5 working days (not guaranteed)
We are not responsible for third parties accepting delivery
Not liable for items delivered to a Safe Space
Not liable for incorrect addresses entered by customer
If an item is confirmed lost by Royal Mail or courier, a refund will be issued once confirmed.
8. ONLINE RETURNS
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:
You may cancel within 14 days of receiving your item.
Conditions:
Item unused
Original condition
Original packaging (sealed if new)
Buyer responsible for return postage (unless faulty)
Refunds issued to original payment method once inspected.
We may withhold reimbursement until goods are received and verified.
Faulty Online Items
Within 14 days – Full refund or replacement.
After 14 days (up to 3 months) – Covered under our Limited Warranty.
9. PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may collect:
Name and contact details
Date of birth
Alternative contact information
Correspondence records
We may contact you regarding promotions unless you opt out.
We do not store card details or share financial information with third parties.
10. PRICING ERRORS
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and cancel incorrectly priced orders. A full refund will be issued if payment has been made.
11. LIABILITY
We are not liable for:
Loss due to incorrect delivery details
Safe Space delivery loss
Delays caused by courier services
Circumstances beyond our control
Nothing in these Terms excludes your statutory rights under UK law.
