Set in a gritty, dystopian version of Detroit dubbed “Old Detroit,” RoboCop: Rogue City places you in the cybernetic armour of the titular part-man, part-machine law enforcer. The game takes place in the narrow narrative gap between the films RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, giving fans a fresh original storyline that remains faithful to the franchise’s tone. As Officer Murphy, now transformed into RoboCop, you’ll patrol crime-ridden city streets, investigate corporate conspiracies, and enforce the law by any means necessary — with the classic Auto-9 pistol, cybernetic augmentations, and a full arsenal of upgradeable weapons at your disposal.
On the gameplay side, the experience is a first-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on feel and atmosphere rather than sprawling open world. As RoboCop you’ll engage in cover-based firefights, use your cybernetic strength to break through obstacles, interrogate suspects and hunt down criminals. The world is stylised and faithful to the films, enhanced by the usage of Unreal Engine 5 for heightened visuals. While reviewers praised the authenticity and setting, some noted technical hiccups and pacing issues — especially on the PS5 version.
