Rally Cross 2 With Manuel (PS1)
Rally Cross 2, released on the PlayStation 1 in North America on October 31, 1998, and in Europe on March 5, 1999, is a sequel that built upon the off-road racing action of its predecessor. Developed by Idol Minds and published by 989 Studios, it offered an enhanced experience with new features and improvements. Players could choose from a selection of licensed and fictional rally cars and trucks to compete in various off-road environments.
The game featured several modes, including a Season Mode where players could progress through a series of races to unlock new vehicles and tracks. Single Race mode allowed for quick races against three opponents, with variations like “Head-on” where one opponent drives in the opposite direction, and “Suicide” where three opponents do. Time Trial mode challenged players to achieve the best lap times, while Practice mode allowed for honing driving skills. A significant addition was a Track Editor, enabling players to create their own custom rally courses using a variety of track pieces and themes. Rally Cross 2 also offered customization options for vehicles, allowing players to adjust parts like shocks, steering, brakes, and tires, as well as personalize their appearance with different paint colors. The game supported both single-player and two-player split-screen modes.
